In Shanghai, a city in perpetual motion where ancient traditions dialogue with urban energy, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud captured the force of a contemporary expression—that of ephemeral calligraphy, a pavement art comprised of poems traced out in water. Born of a wood slowly reduced to soot through an artisanal process, Chinese ink inspired a woody fragrance of great intensity. Its depth is found in the warm, creamy sandalwood that structures the composition. By contrast, white incense brings a pure, mineral touch. Amber notes gradually prolong movement, creating a distinctive trail.

For the occasion, the silhouette of the apothecary-style bottle designed by Marc Newson meets the Chinese snuff bottle, an historic art object of timeless refinement. This small bottle, at once functional and precious, resonates with the tradition of the Maison that, since 1854, has brought beauty and utility together in iconic travel objects. The bottle is made of opalescent glass with changing reflections and crowned with a lacquered cap in deep hues. This chromatic pairing reflects the unique identity of each perfume.
